The director of the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC), General Miguel Paulino Espinal, has revealed that, during his management, more than 70 members of the institution, including officers, have been fired linked to cases of drug trafficking, extortion, theft of jewelry and other crimes.
Paulino Espinal explained that one of the fundamental aspects of his time in office has been to monitor the ethical conduct of the personnel and he has been able to uncover many irregularities. Nevertheless, Espinal said that there were many honest, capable, committed and hard working people within CESAC.
He said that for the third year running CESAC has been certified as ISO 9001-2008 by the quality certifying company SGS, due to the quality of the security services it provides to Dominican airports.
