2009 Latin American Idol winner Martha Heredia, who is in jail on drug trafficking charges, has denied reports that she is seeking reconciliation with her husband, urban music singer Manuel Varet (Vakero). Her letter was delivered to Diario Libre yesterday, Wednesday 31 July by her father. Heredia is in the Rafey Women’s Jail in Santiago. Yesterday, several media outlets carried a story on her alleged reconciliation attempt.
Earlier this year, Heredia accused her husband of physical aggression. He was held in preventive custody in jail and is now free on bail. Heredia herself was subsequently arrested, accused of attempting to smuggle drugs out of the country.
