Construction crews are at work in the Colonial City for major urban improvements starting with Isabel la Catolica and Arzobispo Merino streets from Presidente Billini to Arzobispo Portes streets. The works will also cover stretches of Luperon, Las Mercedes, Emiliano Tejera and Restauracion streets in this first stage. The works are part of the Interamerican Development Bank program to carry out 41 individual projects funded by a US$29.7 million loan. The works call for new pedestrian areas (Las Damas Street), parking, improved lighting and security in the cultural heritage area.
