While investigations into the brawl that seriously injured a 16-year old who is the nephew of Minister of Foreign Relations Carlos Morales continue, a judge authorized the reopening of the Gustavo Mejia Ricart bar. Judge Elka Reyes said that the prosecutor office had concluded its investigation into the case. Bar owners Teofilo Manuel Hache Handal, Roger Rincon and Daniel Fernandez need to continue to be available when required by the court. The bar had been closed on order of the Attorney General of the Republic for violation of law 136-03 on Protection of Fundamental Rights of Children that establishes that it is a crime to allow the entry of a minor to a bar. Two men were arrested in the case, Teofilo Manuel Hache Handal and Saint Amand Rincon who were released on bail of RD$100,000 and RD$500,000 respectively for the incident that occurred on 14 July. The group affected had visited the bar to celebrate a university graduation.
