The Department of Taxes (DGII) says that tax collections totaled RD$163,132.5 million in the first seven months of the year, up 7.7% compared to the previous period.
In January-July 2012, the DGII received an additional RD$11.6 billion. Its estimates were met by 97.8%.
Tax collections include RD$4.36 billion for amnesty law, RD$9.8 billion for Law 253-12 and RD$2.5 billion for advances on the Law of Financial Assets of Financial Intermediaries that resulted for the tax reform of November 2012.
The DGII says that excluding those chapters and the extraordinary earnings reported from the sale of the Presidente beer brewery, the growth rate would have been 4%.
