Authorities in Puerto Plata are investigating the death of a German national, Rolf Erich Manfred Kobesch, 60, whose body was found stuffed inside a plastic barrel in his home in Sosua.
The Public Prosecution service and the Police Criminal Investigation Department (DICRIM) are trying to establish if the crime was connected in any way with the raid in La Mulata III in Sosua last year, which resulted in another German being killed and three others injured.
The authorities are investigating several people, including the victim’s neighbors and family members, and are also looking for one of his former employees, a Haitian national who appears to have disappeared. So far, there have been no arrests.
