Aerodom proposes to build hotel and new cargo terminal

Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom), the concession-holder that operates the Las Americas International (SDQ) and Puerto Plata International (POP) airports in the Dominican Republic says it has made a proposal for building new infrastructure at these ports of entry. The company announced plans to build a hotel, convention center and cargo terminal at las Americas International. For Puerto Plata it proposes the construction of a new control tower. Works to improve facilities for security staff and install modern alternative power systems are proposed for other terminals. The company plans to invest US$350 million to improve infrastructure for the airports. The company wants its concession contract to be amended to last another eight years ending in 2038. Aerodom pays the Dominican government 6% in gross income. The company says it has invested US$440 million in the facilities under their charge.
