The editor in chief of El Dia writes today, Monday 2 September about the pink and black rings the City Government of the National District (Santo Domingo) has placed around thousands of lampposts. He writes that after lots of inquiries he was finally able to find someone in the city government who could provide an explanation. It turns out that the rings are part of a campaign to create awareness and fight violence against women. He comments that although it is a magnificent idea and a noble cause, he wonders who has been informed about this, and “how much is this mysterious campaign costing?
