Senate to investigate Aerodom bond issue

The Senate has approved the creation of a commission to investigate the US$550 million bond issue attributed to Aerodom, the concessionaire of several of the country’s main airports, according to a report in Diario Libre. The news was that Advent International, the owners of Aerodom, issued the debt to pay out US$325 million to its shareholders. The Senate commission will look at Aerodom’s capacity to continue maintaining, preserving and renovating the four terminals it operates, according to El Nuevo Diario. Aerodom, which operates Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Samana and Barahona airports, is requesting an extension of its contract with the Dominican government.
