86% of Dominicans have a positive opinion of the Medina government, according to a Gallup-Hoy poll carried out from Friday 6 September to Wednesday 11 September 2013. Some 1,200 people were surveyed nationwide. Even 76% of respondents who identified themselves as PRD voters had a good opinion about Medina’s government. 73% of Dominicans polled said he inspires their trust.
Of those polled, 90.8% approved the actions taken in education, 78% in public health, 77% in agriculture, 77% the economy, 69% construction, 64% fight against poverty, 47% citizen safety, 46% public transport, 45% drug trafficking, 43% administrative corruption and 42% cost of living.
80% say the Medina government is very different to that of his predecessor, Leonel Fernandez who is president of the same political party. 50% say that Medina does it better. 48% of those polled said there have been many changes in the government, but 24% says there have been few changes. The poll has a margin of error of 2.8%.
