Work to improve 120 historic houses advances in Colonial City

The Ministry of Tourism has announced the start of work to improve 120 historic houses in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. The program coordinator, architect Maribel Villalona, said that the initiative is part of the Tourism Program for the Colonial City that seeks to increase visits and improve visitors’ experience of the historic area. She said that the Program’s Coordination Unit and the National Department of Monumental Heritage, together with a team of expert consultants are choosing the houses for improvements to their facade and interior.
