The French government is making a EUR500,000 donation towards the cost of the studies for the improvements and human resettlements of the river basin areas of the Ozama and Isabela rivers in Santo Domingo. As reported in El Caribe, Economy, Planning and Development Minister Temistocles Montas and French ambassador Blandine Kreiss signed the agreement was at the Presidential Palace yesterday, Thursday 26 September.
The funds will also be used for the study and implementation of the 30-megawatt wind farm in Tierra Nueva in the southwestern province of Independencia. The funds will also be allocated to the landfill site in Los Bajos de Haina, San Cristobal.
