The DR is doing well in source travel markets of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela and Colombia. The government is now announcing it will be stepping up its promotional campaigns aimed at attracting more tourism from the region with TV commercials airing on the leading stations, including CNN en Espanol, ESPN, Fox and History Channel. The campaign runs under the umbrella of “the Dominican Republic has it all” promotion. Magaly Toribio, marketing advisor to the Ministry, headed the Dominican mission to the Feria Internacional de Turismo America Latina (FIT) in Buenos Aires in September where the announcement was made.
