House painting in the Colonial City

The Ministry of Tourism has begun the second phase of the project to paint the facades of houses in the Colonial City. The program comes under the Program for Promoting Tourism in the Colonial City, with funds from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which provided a US$30 million loan for refurbishing the historic streets. Program coordinator, architect Maribel Villalona, said the painting of the facades would continue throughout November. 200 houses located in the Maria de Toledo, Mercedes, Nicolas de Bari, San Anton and Santa Barbara areas of the Colonial City will be painted.
