The Dominican government has signed a memorandum of understanding for direct access to the World Customs Organization and Interpol database. Under the agreement, systems at the Las Americas and Punta Cana international airports will be interconnected to fight organized crime. The agreement was signed yesterday, Thursday 10 October at the Ministry of Interior and Police. The agreement also establishes joint actions with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the implementation of the international law on the export and import of illegal goods by air, as reported in Diario Libre.
