Discover Puerto Plata opens Wednesday, 16 October

Puerto Plata is celebrating its Discover Puerto Plata MarketPlace with tour operators, travel agents and press attending from 17 countries in the Americas and Europe. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, USAID and the tourism sector in the province. It seeks to strengthen ties with traditional tour operators selling north coast vacations as well as creating new relationships. The event, which opens on Wednesday evening, 16 October, will run through Friday, 18 October. There will be post-event tours for all who are interested in seeing the region’s attractions first hand. Missions from Puerto Rico, the United States, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Chile are coming for the event. There will be presentations on the attractions of the north coast, which stretches from Luperon in the west to Maimon, Cofresi, Costa Dorada, Playa Dorada, Sosua and Cabarete in the east.

There will be 49 stands at Discover Puerto Plata MarketPlace 2013 where companies and organizations will present the cultural variety, historical and natural attractions of the destination.

The opening ceremony takes place on Wednesday, 16 October at the Hotel BeLive Grand Marien’s Beach Club. The closing event will be held on Thursday, 17 October at the installations of the Brugal Rum Factory.
