President Medina travels to Panama

President Danilo Medina is scheduled to travel to Panama today, Thursday 17 October to attend the 23rd Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government. This year the theme is: “The Political, Economic, Social and Cultural Role of the Ibero-American Community in the New World Context.”

The event will take place from 18-19 October, reports the Presidency. Today, the President will take part in the 9th Latin American Business Meeting as part of the 24th Plenary Assembly of the Panama-based Latin American Business Council (CEAL).

Medina will be accompanied by First Lady Candida Montilla who has her own schedule of events with her counterparts, including a conference on autism with the Autism Speaks organization. Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo, Administrative Minister Jose Ramon Peralta and his personal assistant Carlos Pared Perez are also accompanying the President. Businessman Jose Miguel Gonzalez is on the mission as a special guest.
