The Higher Police Board has recommended to the Executive Branch that 22 members of the Police Force should be dismissed for various misdeeds. The number includes two majors, one captain, eight first lieutenants, two second lieutenants, four sergeant majors, two sergeants and three enlisted men.
Amongst them are Major Julio Antonio Marmolejos Paulino and First Lieutenant Sandro Ramirez Hernandez, who committed extortion against an Italian citizen to the tune of RD$15,000 and Major Buenaventura Valdez del Carmen, for taking money from people under his command.
