The leading Dominican fashion week opens this evening, Monday 21 October with a runway show by Leonel Lirio, the designer best known for his Miss Universe and Miss World designs. The event takes place at the Hotel Embajador in Santo Domingo.
Later in the evening, Sully Bonnelly will present the pret-a-porter collection he has designed for Jumbo superstores.
Dominicana Moda will continue all throughout the week with workshops, fashion shows with established Dominican designers, designers from Central America and the Caribbean. This year a runway show with Dominican chacabanas is on the program. The show ends with a performance by Frankie Morello of Italy.
