Canadian teen idol Justin Bieber is in Santo Domingo for his show at the Olympic Stadium this evening, Tuesday 22 October. The organizers have erected what is probably the largest stage ever built at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Stadium for the event. Bieber arrived in the country for his Believe World Tour concert on Sunday, 20 October and is staying at the Crowne Plaza on the Malecon.
As reported in El Dia, Bieber has plans to use the Dominican Republic as operations center for his remaining tour dates in Latin America. After the concert, tomorrow, Wednesday 23 October he will depart to Panama but will return to the country the next day to then fly to Guatemala. He will then return here and then depart to Peru and return.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 5pm with an opening performance by Gabriel, a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. His album Peripecia has caught on with all the attention he is receiving after the announcement he would open the concert. “It will be a performance with passion and good music, with percussion instruments, and a background of funk music that at times becomes urban pop, jazz or R&B”, said Gabriel.
Tickets for the concert range from RD$1,000 to RD$25,000 and are for sale at Movie Max on Av. Abraham Lincoln and Uepa Tickets at Bella Vista Mall.
