No roaming charges for T-Mobile customers in DR

The Dominican Republic is included in the list of more than 100 countries that will be able to have access to free data roaming offered by the popular T-Mobile service. The company is offering free roaming for up to 2G speed or 128Kbps, enough for reading e-mail, web pages, navigation, and social apps.

The service is good news for tourists to the Dominican Republic who would have had to purchase a low cost mobile to avoid having to pay costly roaming fees when using their own phone during their travels. The unlimited international data coverage and texting starts 20 October.

Users signing on for the T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan as of 20 October will only pay a global flat rate of 20 cents per minute for voice calls to mobile devices and landlines.

The company is announcing reasonable costs for faster speeds. A one-day pass capped at 100MB will cost US$15, a seven-day pass capped at 200MB will cost US$25, and a 14-day pass capped at 500MB will cost US$50.
