Aida Bonnelly de Diaz was laid to rest yesterday, Sunday 27 October after passing away at the age of 87. She served as artistic director of the National Theater (1980-83, 1987-1990) and is said to have been responsible for designating the use of the Sala Ravelo as a drama hall. The Sala de la Cultura of the National Theater has been named in her honor since 2011. She graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in 1949.
