Most likely to keep spending under control, 80% of cell phone plans in the country are prepaid, reports El Caribe. According to statistics from the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) in July 2013 there were 9,273,580 mobile lines in operation. Of that total, 650,455 numbers or 82.49%were prepaid. The rest receive a monthly bill for usage.
