A court in the National District has ordered that the owners of the San Rafael Maternity Clinic, a private medical facility should stand trial for stealing electricity.
Judge Kenya Scarlett Romero Severino ordered the trial after hearing the evidence from the Electricity Prosecution Office (PGASE), which raided the Clinic in March when they found illegal connections and millions of pesos worth of electricity had been stolen.
They are seeking a RD$45 million fine in compensation for their actions.
Those standing trial will be Juan Perdomo, Antonio Almodovar Hache, Ricardo Domingo, Miguel Mateo, Victor Martinez, Gianna Blanco, Dione Gonzalez de Lee, Hilda Miranda de Galvez, Belgica Beato de Gamundi, Diana Alburquerque, Sotera Aleida Pacheco, Milena Cabrera and Doris Reyes Almanzar, as well as the San Rafael clinic itself.
