New ambassadors for Germany, Turkey, Qatar and European Union

President Danilo Medina received the credentials of four new ambassadors at the Presidential Palace yesterday, Thursday 14 November. They are Victoria Zimmermann von Siefart from Germany, Aydin Evirgen from Turkey, Khamis Al-Souhouti from Qatar, and Alberto Navarro of the European Union.

Ambassador Victoria Maria Zimmermann von Siefart (Germany) studied history and began her diplomatic career in 1987. She has been on missions to Great Britain, Philippines, Switzerland and New York, where she was the German permanent representative to the United Nations.

Ambassador Aydin Evirgen (Turkey) is a graduate in political sciences and international relations from the University of Ankara in 1974. He is a career diplomat who has held posts in several countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.

Ambassador Khamis Ben Beti Rashed Al-Souhouti (Qatar) began his diplomatic career in 1984. He served as his country’s ambassador in Senegal from 2004-2007.

Alberto Navarro has studied law, journalism and diplomacy. He is a long-time diplomat.

President Medina was accompanied by the acting Minister of Foreign Relations Jose Manuel Trullols.
