The Minister of Interior and Police Jose Ramon Fadul has announced that the government will convene the National Immigration Board on Friday, 22 November to study all the options under the National Foreigners Legalization Plan. The meeting will take place at the Presidential Palace with President Danilo Medina in attendance.
Fadul said that they will analyze the Plan to ensure compliance with the Constitutional Court Ruling 168-13 and will try and establish a way forward which all sectors agree with, without excluding anyone.
The announcement was made following a meeting with President Medina, the Ministers of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, Interior and Police, Jose Ramon Fadul, Presidency Legal Advisor Cesar Pina Toribio and the Director General of Immigration, Jose Ricardo Taveras.
The members of the board are the president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Roberto Rosario, Ministers of Defense Sigfrido Pared Perez, Labor Maritza Hernandez, Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia, Public Health Freddy Hidalgo and Agriculture Luis Ramon Rodriguez.
