Minister of Education Carlos Amarante Baret has highlighted the transparency with which they have assigned the building of 401 new schools that will add 8,000 classrooms to the state education sector.
He said that the RD$23,36 billion being spent on building the new classrooms would energize the Dominican economy.
He said that the new classrooms were a central part of the plan to extend school hours. At present 566 schools are teaching until 4pm and a further 80 are due to start the full-day timetable in December.
