Dominicans win Latin Grammy awards

Dominicans Michel Camilo and Juan Luis Guerra, and naturalized Dominican Diego El Cigala won Latin Grammy Awards at 14th Annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony that took place yesterday evening, Thursday 21 November. Juan Luis Guerra did not attend the ceremony because of a previous commitment to play a concert in Luanda, Angola, while Michel Camilo was in Taiwan for a performance at the National Concert Hall in Taipei.

Juan Luis Guerra won the Best Tropical Album for his “Asondeguerra Tour.”

Michel Camilo won the Best Album for Latin Jazz for his “What’s Up?”

Diego El Cigala, a Spaniard who recently took on Dominican nationality and residence in Punta Cana, won Best Tango Album for “Romance de la luna tucumana.”

Marc Anthony, who won the 2013 Latin Grammy winner of the Record of the Year award, is coming to Punta Cana for a 15 December concert at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 6pm as part of his Vivir Mi Vida World Tour.
