Caricom meeting today

Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will chair a special Caricom meeting today, Tuesday 26 November to examine the Dominican Republic government’s decision to comply with Constitutional Court ruling 168-13 of the Constitutional Court. The ruling confirms the 2005 Supreme Court judgment that all children born to undocumented parents in the Dominican Republic are not automatically Dominicans and orders the implementation of a massive plan to legalize foreigners in the country.

Haitian President Michel Martelly, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves and Caricom Secretary-General Irwin LaRocque are expected to be in attendance.
