According to statistics published by the Center for Exports and Investments of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), bilateral trade between DR and Caricom was US$766 million in 2012, and has averaged US$687.14 million over the past five years (2008-2012).
The Dominican Republic has purchased more than it has sold to Caricom. The bulk of trade is made up of imports by the Dominican Republic from Trinidad & Tobago. This despite the signing of the Caricom free trade agreement that has been in place for 15 years.
Dominican exports to Caricom totaled US$24 million, as reported in Listin Diario.
