Residents of Santo Domingo East protested outside the Presidential Palace yesterday, Tuesday 3 December demanding that the government assign resources to lengthen the second Metro line up to the community of San Luis.
This time the demonstrators asked President Medina to use the US$1.4 billion that the government is expected to earn from the sale of Orange Dominicana to Altice.
As on previous occasions, the demonstration was peaceful.
The second Metro line was supposed to go from Los Alcarrizos, in Santo Domingo West up to San Luis in Santo Domingo East, but for budgetary reasons it only goes from Kilometer 9 on the Duarte highway to the Francisco del Rosario Sanchez Bridge.
