Police in Santiago have decided that the “kidnapping” of Jenifer Sanchez Inoa was faked. The alleged kidnappers were asking for RD$300,000. Colonel Damien Arias Matos told El Caribe that Inoa had two boyfriends, one Dominican and one American, and that the “kidnapping” was staged in order to get that sum of money from the boyfriend in the United States. Inoa, 21, was allegedly kidnapped in the La Mina section in the southern part of the city, but when the Police discovered the plot, she was arrested and charged with attempted fraud and staging a kidnapping.
