What the IACHR needs to include

In his Diario Libre editorial comment today, Friday 6 December, Nelson Rodriguez writes that it is obvious that in its press conference the IACHR will not be able to say more than that it will analyze the testimonies it has received, because the American Convention limits it to only receiving complaints and verifying that the local jurisdiction procedures were followed. He says that the recriminatory words will come and thus the government should demand that three points must be included in the statement: “1. That the Dominican Republic is taking steps to define its migratory policy; 2) That President Danilo Medina has sought a humanitarian solution; and 3) That they did not see deportations, nor killings or persecutions. And amen.”
