The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued a green alert from Manzanillo all along the Atlantic Coast in the north to Cabo Engano to Pedernales on the Caribbean coast. The COE is advising small boats to remain in port due to strong winds and abnormally high waves. Beachgoers should take special care in the surf. The COE warns there can be winds of 10 to 25 knots and waves of up to 10 feet, increasing in size further from shore.
The National Weather Department (Onamet) says that a trough is making its way from Puerto Rico and is expected to bring rains in the northeast, southeast, southwest and southern part of the Central Mountain Range. Rains are expected to be of short duration.
