The government has announced the seizure of 26,000 kilos of seafood for export to Vietnam by Ximda Trading Company, SRL. The shipment would have been made by the Naviera B&R shipping agency, reported the specialized prosecutors for defense of environment of the Attorney General Office. The department confiscated 696 sacks of conch, six sacks of shark fins and four sacks of sea cucumber because they were captured when there was a seasonal ban on fishing of the species. The seafood was confiscated because there is a seasonal ban on capture that began 2 July and extended to 31 October. The regulation is included in Law 64-00 and Law 307-04, and Decree 499-09.
