Virginia Gomez, head of the Department of Motor Vehicle at the Taxation office (DGII) and the Director of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET), General Geronimo Brown Perez, are urging vehicle owners who have not done so to move fast to renew vehicle circulation stickers. Online sales of the sticker will cease on 18 December.
The renewal period ends at midday on 31 December. She said that so far only 40% of vehicle owners have done so. Anyone renewing after the date needs to pay a fine of RD$600 and can only do so at the DGII offices.
