Police chief Major General Manuel Castro Castillo says that four people, including two women are being investigated in the case of the death of a 48-year old German resident Dirc Weber in Puerto Plata province. Weber, who owned several properties in the area, had been missing since Saturday, 18 January. Castro says they suspect the reason for the crime was that he was collecting a property debt. Weber was found dead under a bed in a room in an apartment located in Playa Laguna, Sosua with blows to the head, back and other parts of the body. His burned-out vehicle was found on the Sosua-Cabarete highway.
