An International Seminar on Tourism Destinations Management in Cultural Heritage Sites will take place in Santo Domingo on 17-18 February.
Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia, Santo Domingo Mayor Roberto Salcedo, World Tourism Organization Secretary General Taleb Rifai and President Danilo Medina will be speaking during the event. The presentations will take place at the Occidental El Embajador Hotel.
Maribel Villalona will be making a presentation on Managing cultural heritage sites abroad in Quito, Ecuador, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Old Havana and Santo Domingo. Kishore Rao, director of UNESCO’s World Heritage Center is also taking part.
There will be presentations on the Mundo Maya cultural route in Guatemala, the coffee route in Colombia, the Mexican Magic towns and the Dominican Chocolate route by Hector Rizek.
Case studies on Santa Ana de Coro in Venezuela, the old city in Panana, Cusco-Machu Picchu in Peru and La Citadelle and Sans Souci in Haiti will also be featured.
The event includes panel discussions on education, gastronomy and cultural practices.
