The Dominican Republic has joined the Central American telecoms commission Comtelca. The local telecom regulator, Indotel, will represent the Dominican Republic within Comtelca. Comtelca is a technical commission that brings together telecoms regulators in six Central American countries, including Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. The body aims to coordinate and harmonize the regional development of the telecommunications industry.
