India works to open Embassy in Santo Domingo

The Ambassador of India for the Dominican Republic Chinthapally Rajasekhar told Minister of Foreign Relations Carlos Morales Troncoso yesterday, Wednesday 12 March, that his government is planning to open an embassy in the Dominican Republic. He said that India seeks to promote increased trade. As reported in Diario Libre, the ambassador said, “We recognize that the Dominican Republic is the society, the nation with the most dynamic economy in the Caribbean, mainly in trade, and we are interested in that aspect.” He said the volume of trade is at US$100 million a year, but that it can be increased.
