The 800+ page Family Code was returned to the Presidency for further study yesterday Thursday 20 March. Vice President Margarita Cedeno delivered the project to President Danilo Medina earlier this year for sending to the Senate. It was returned on the grounds that it is conflict with many laws. The bill had met with widespread criticism for being ultra-conservative and not taking into account the fact that 40% of Dominican households are headed by a single parent.
