ADDY Awards recognize Dominican Republic’s ‘Has It’ campaign

The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism advertising campaign has received four silver ADDY Awards at the Miami Chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) annual ADDY Awards. The prestigious ADDY Awards are the United States advertising industry’s largest and most representative accolades. The campaigns were carried out by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism’s United States and Hispanic marketing agency, BVKMeka that is based in Miami, Florida.

The awards were for the 2013/2014 ‘Has It” campaign that highlights the destinations of Puerto Plata, La Romana, Samana, Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, said Magaly Toribio, marketing advisor for the Ministry. “We consistently seek innovative ways to promote the country through advertising and always consider what our travelers look for in a vacation destination. We are extremely honored to have our efforts recognized by such a well-respected organization.”

The campaign strategy of “Has It” depicts the personality of each region through stunning visuals and inspiring music, specifically emphasizing that each region is a destination unto itself. Each region’s “it factor” contributes to the allure of Dominican Republic – a country where tourists can truly have it all, says the Ministry of Tourism in a press release on the accomplishment.

The Dominican Republic Has It / Lo Tiene Todo Campaign received the awards:

Silver ADDY Integrated Campaign / Cross Platform – Has It Campaign (TV, Print, Transit)

Silver ADDY Television (TV Campaign) – Lo Tiene Todo

Silver ADDY Outdoor (Mass Transit) – Samana Has It

Silver ADDY Print (Consumer and Trade Spread Ads) – Lo Tiene Todo

The prestigious ADDY Awards are the industry’s largest and most representative accolades. The three-tier ADDY program recognizes achievement on local, district and national levels with entries being judged by industry professionals.
