Jorge Pineda at the Museo de Arte Moderno

Only a couple more days are left to catch what has been described as the most exceptional exhibition so far this year at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in Plaza de la Cultura in Santo Domingo. Jorge Pineda’s “After all, tomorrow is another day”, featuring 20 of his works is being held in coordination with the MAM and the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM). The exhibit opened on 6 March and continues through Saturday 3 May. The exhibit includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. MAM director Maria Elena Ditren said that Pineda has achieved a balance between ethics and aesthetics in his works. Pineda has also exhibited in Madrid, Valencia, Gijon, Lima and New York. His works are in collections at the MUSAC, DA2 (Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Salamanca), IVAM (Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno), Coleccion Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, Casa de Americas, Osaka Museum of Contemporary Art, Centro Leon and the MAM.

The exhibit was first shown at the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (7 Feb – 1 May 2013).

The exhibition is open to the general public through Saturday 3 May, 9am to 5pm. The Museum is on Av. Pedro Henriquez Urena, Plaza de la Cultura in Santo Domingo.
