Arts, crafts and Dominican traditions at Guibia Park kiosk

The Santo Domingo Cluster, in cooperation with the Santo Domingo city government opened the “KiosKo Dominicano” at Plaza Guibia on the Malecon last week. USAID supported the venture by funding the kiosk that seeks to provide a recreational space for exhibiting the country’s traditions and customs. Freddy Ginebra, general coordinator for the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster says that the 400-square meter kiosk has enough space to showcase arts and crafts, artwork and samples Dominican food. From this point, tourists will be able to board the Santo Domingo Sightseeing Tour run by Gray Line.

Ginebra said the kiosk should be seen as a “meeting point” where people can learn about Dominican culture.
