Iberia gets government approval to return to DR

Travelers to Europe are celebrating. Better fares are coming thanks to Iberia’s return to Dominican skies after suspending its flights in April 2013 as part of the company’s restructuring process. Last week, the local civil aviation board (JAC) approved their route permission to fly return between Madrid and Santo Domingo starting 1 September 2014. Iberia will have five weekly flights with an availability of around 3,000 seats. They will be flying modern Airbus A330s.

The JAC announced the approval of other routes, including Evelop Airlines on the Madrid-Punta Cana-Madrid route.
