Pedro Clisante Street now for closed to traffic

Sosua has opened its first pedestrian street, Pedro Clisante Street. Restaurant owners and bars from Duarte to Dr. Rosen streets are free to set their tables out to attract pedestrians strolling by from 6pm to 6am. The move is expected to continue to create a pleasant atmosphere for partying and eating.

The decision had the blessing and support of Mayor Ilana Neumann of Sosua and Lorenzo Sancassani, the regional director for the Ministry of Tourism.

The creating of the pedestrian street was under discussion for several years but action has only been taken now.

The Ministry of Tourism is sponsoring music groups to entertain the crowds that hang out on the Sosua restaurant and bar row.
