A local non-profit microfinance institution has received a three-year US$4.8 million loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group. The Fondo para el Desarrollo Incorporado (Fondesa) will use the funds for micro-entrepreneurs based in rural areas. Fondesa expects to benefit 15,000 small businesspeople.
