AA station in Santiago wins Customer Cup

The American Airlines team at Santiago’s Cibao International Airport has received the American Airlines Customer Cup that rewards the station for being one of the best AA stations in customer services in the world. This is the second time that AA has selected a Dominican airport team for the distinction. The first, in 2010, was the Punta Cana International Airport station.

Art Torno, senior vice president for AA operations in Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America presented the cup to the staff and congratulated them for having reached the highest international standards. Oliver Bojos, general director of AA in the Dominican Republic, received the award in the name of the American Airlines personnel in Santiago.

The Customer Cup is a competition between airport station teams focused on improving processes, products and interactions to deliver a better customer experience. Customer Cups are categorized and awarded by market size from largest to smallest stations according to flight activity. The award recognizes stations for their performance in serving customers at the airport across six primary customer touch points, including gate interactions, the boarding experience, delays and delay management, onboard interactions, baggage handling and baggage resolution.
