San Cristobal judge Willy de Jesus has denied parole for Mary Pelaez who is serving a jail sentence for money laundering and belonging to the gang led by Puerto Rican Jose David Figueroa Agosto. Pelaez must stay in her cell in Najayo women’s prison until she has completed her five-year sentence. She is more than halfway through.
The judge made his decision after the assistant Prosecutor, Faustino Pulinario, opposed parole last week saying that she did not meet all the requirements under the rules.
Less than a month ago, Willy de Jesus released Sobeida Felix Morel whose parole request had been rejected several times.
