President Danilo Medina visited San Pedro de Macoris yesterday, Monday 28 July 2014 for the inauguration of the first breakfast cereal (called locally ‘cornflakes’) factory in the Dominican Republic.
The new business, known as El Rey or The King, belongs to the Cesar Iglesias Group that already employs 1,600 Dominicans. Company president Miguel Feris Iglesias said that their expansion is a result of the confidence they have in the future of the country.
Administrative vice president Cesar Norberto Armenteros said that they would be producing six different brands of cereal, of international quality.
